For the 6 series Rhino listened to their customer feedback and improved the Pioneer platform to suit.

Arguably the most impactful upgrade is the 60% reduction in drag, which means less wind noise primarily, one of the biggest issues with any roof rack. This also will slightly improve fuel economy on long trips.

Weight is always another high impact issue with roof racks and especially platforms, as with the greater load space comes greater weight, which means you can load up less gear before reaching your vehicle’s roof load rating limit. With the 6 series Rhino have reduced the weight of the platform by a very substantial 20%, so you can carry more gear. Amazingly, this has been achieved without any reduction in the rack’s strength with the use of stronger alloys.

Rhino have also improved the durability of the already tough Pioneer range with a new powder coating technique to produce the toughest finish ever, so you’ll be very hard pressed to damage or scuff this rack.

Everyone wants more accessory mounting options, so they have done away with channel apertures which allows 100% of the platform’s channels to be used for mounting accessories. Along with a 25% increase in the amount of channels for accessory mounting it now provides you with the option to fit your accessories to almost any part of the platform.

An area where Rhino have always shined is in their range of accessories available for their Pioneer range, this remains unchanged. With accessories for every activity, whether you are into 4x4 trips, kayaking, camping, cycling, or if you’re a tradesperson, they have something for you. Plus, they have various general cargo carrying options for the 6 series.

Rhino have also made innovations in this area with improved designs across the board and their new Zwifloc channel nuts which allow you to fit, move, or remove your accessories easily, without needing to shift any of the others you may have fitted.
